Facto S5 has been chosen by one of the UK's largest stockists
of rare and fine wines from around the world.
Seckford
Wines Ltd was founded in 1981, and has rapidly developed
to become one of the prominent players in their field.
In 1997, in order to establish absolute control over
storage and distribution of their stock, they built
a temperature and humidity controlled bonded warehouse
adjacent to their offices in Melton, Suffolk. Their
total capacity is over 55,000 cases of wine, which comprises
of both
their
own stock, and customers' reserves. They are one of the
few companies in the country to have their own bond.
Seckford
Wines has a client base which spans the globe, and is
split more or less equally between trade and private customers.
Their new warehouse was designed in order to store
large volumes of wines in optimal conditions over considerable
time periods,
but also to speedily amass orders for customers wishing
to distribute wines from around the world.
In
order to realise those aims, Seckford Wines have
decided to implement de
Facto S5 as their business
management and accounting system. With de Facto
S5 they will not only rely on S5 Financials,
but also utilise S5 Logistics suite
to control and administer their storage and distribution
operation.
As
a result of their growth as a company, they have
moved into associated markets. Consequently Seckford
Wine Agencies was formed to service the independent
retailer and supermarket groups with wines from around
the world.

Seckford
Wines' installation is centred on the de Facto S5 Financials
and Logistics suites.
The Seckford Wine Agencies installation went live February
2004,
with the Fine Wines operation
expected to be complete during March 2004.
